Sun, November 19, 2006 - 10:15 PMI'd say DJ Food is my favorite of the Jon & Matt projects, but at the moment Bonobo floats my boat. His latest album is just incredible. -

Re: favorite ninja?
Mon, November 20, 2006 - 10:19 AMI love the early Bonobo stuff, but Mixmaster Morris and the Irresistible Force (especially It's Tomorrow Already) have a special place in my listening collection. I still give props to DJ Food and Amon Tobin as well ...
Oh, Fog's early releases were on NT, and I love Andrew's 1st 2 LPs (Fog and Ether Teeth) -

Re: favorite ninja?
Mon, December 4, 2006 - 9:57 AMfog is on the ninja tune label!
they are soooo terrible live i dont know about their recorded stuff
but i could easily say that was the worst show i have ever seen!
followed immidiatly by one of the best (kid koala)
kid koala said that he loved fog too
there something i am not viben with. -

Re: favorite ninja?
Mon, December 4, 2006 - 10:10 AMYeah, I'm not too crazy about Fog's newer stuff. I saw their last album's show about a year ago and it wasn't too bad. I guess it's a good thing I missed their last show. Do check out their first 2 albums cause they are really good (self titled and ether teeth). Fog just recently moved to releasing on Lex records, which is warp's hip hop label. -

Re: favorite ninja?
Sat, January 6, 2007 - 6:09 PMAmon Tobin for sure. All those other cats kick ass too, but there is something about Amon.... A friend of mine once described his music as the kind that movies are written too, not vice versa. Its so colorful, and round. He's a true composer. -

Re: favorite ninja?
Thu, January 25, 2007 - 12:00 AMAmon is definately my favourite ninja. There's something about the particular levels of bass he uses that makes it oh so special for me. At least they were when I had access to a pair of 15" 1000w cerwin vegas to pump up and listen to his music with. There was this one evening where we drank a 40 of vodka each (friend of mine and I) and a few beers and knocked pictures off peoples' walls 3 apartments down while listening to 'Picking up the pieces of Saturn' at about 10:45 at night. Wow, those were some crazy days. -

Re: favorite ninja?
Thu, January 25, 2007 - 3:08 PM"we drank a 40 of vodka... and a few beers"
?
shouldn't that be "we drank a 5th of vodka and a few 40's" -
-
Re: favorite ninja?
Fri, January 26, 2007 - 11:01 AMNo, it means we each had our own 40 of vodka, and 3 tallboys of faxe or holstein (highest alchohol content for least cash, yet still better than 40's of Olde E).. Neither of us got sick either. I don't really drink anymore however.

Re: favorite ninja?
Mon, March 5, 2007 - 3:16 PMAmon's new album is really insane! You really get a cinematic vibe from him, especially after his Chaos Theory stuff. I gotta say tho every time Foley Room drops into a beat, it seems to get scattered and sloppy. It's still diggable...But I miss those old jazz samples he was so good at choppin up.
I like the new-ish Ninja called Yppah. Peep that. His style is like a clash of post-rock/My Bloody Valentine style with a dose of solid hip hop beats. Sounds as if he used to be in a rock band and converted to a hiphop DJ. -

Re: favorite ninja?
Wed, March 7, 2007 - 7:23 AMoh! for sure Amon and Bonobo. Totally different styles, but they both rock it hard. -
